As I reflect upon the past year as a University Honors Scholar at the University of Cincinnati, I am thrilled to have achieved significant milestones and experienced transformative opportunities that have shaped my academic and professional journey. Throughout this year, I not only deepened my understanding of global citizenship but also pursued my interest in business analytics, excelled academically, embarked on my first co-op experience, and engaged in a captivating archaeological research project through the UHP Discover program.

One of the highlights of this year was taking the Business Analytics Certification course. This experience allowed me to explore the fascinating realm of the business side of the market, complementing my computer science studies and broadening my skill set. The knowledge gained in this certification will undoubtedly be valuable as I pursue interdisciplinary projects and seek to make data-driven decisions in the corporate world.

I am proud to share that I have made remarkable progress towards achieving my GPA expectations this year. Through unwavering dedication and tireless effort, I attained a GPA of 3.95 this semester. This achievement not only reflects my commitment to academic excellence but also validates the hard work and perseverance I invested in my studies. It serves as a testament to my growth as a scholar and fuels my motivation to continue striving for excellence in the future.

In parallel to my academic pursuits, I had the privilege of embarking on my first co-op experience with Emerson, a renowned company in the corporate world. This opportunity provided me with invaluable insights into the dynamics of the business environment and allowed me to apply my knowledge and skills in a real-world setting. Working alongside professionals in the industry, I gained practical experience, enhanced my problem-solving abilities, and developed a deeper understanding of the corporate landscape.

Simultaneously, I remained actively involved in the UHP Discover program, where I engaged in a captivating project focused on Archaeological Research on Roman Cities: Pompeii and Tharros. This research undertaking expanded my horizons, immersing me in the rich history and culture of ancient civilizations. Collaborating with a diverse team of researchers, I developed critical research skills, honed my ability to work collaboratively, and embraced interdisciplinary approaches to problem-solving.

Moreover, my involvement as an Ambassador and Student Onboarding Mentor in the University Honors Program provided me with the opportunity to guide and support incoming honors students in their transition to university life. By sharing my experiences and offering advice, I have been able to create a welcoming and inclusive community within the UHP, promoting a sense of belonging and camaraderie among my peers.

Looking ahead, I am eager to leverage my newfound knowledge and experiences to further fuel my academic and professional growth. In the upcoming year, I aspire to combine my passion for computer science, business analytics, and interdisciplinary research to address complex challenges at the intersection of technology and social impact. I aim to pursue advanced coursework, participate in research opportunities, and seek internships that will allow me to continue broadening my horizons and making a meaningful contribution to society.

Throughout this journey, I have recognized the importance of resilience and the support of my network. This year, I demonstrated resilience by navigating the challenges that came my way, adapting to new environments, and embracing a growth mindset. I utilized the resources available to me, such as mentorship programs within the University Honors Program and the guidance of my professors, to overcome obstacles and maintain focus on my goals.

As I conclude this Year in Review, I am grateful for the transformative experiences and growth I have achieved throughout this year. From expanding my understanding of global citizenship to pursuing my passion for business analytics, excelling academically, embarking on a fulfilling co-op experience, and engaging in captivating research, I am confident that the knowledge and skills acquired will shape my future endeavors. I am eager to continue my journey as a global citizen scholar, equipped with a strong academic foundation, a commitment to lifelong learning, and a profound dedication to making a positive impact in the world.
