About Me
Hello! My name is Siddharth Urankar, and I am a junior at the University of Cincinnati, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a Business Analytics Certification. As a University Honors Scholar and a Dean’s List honoree for all four semesters, I am dedicated to academic excellence and holistic personal and professional growth.

Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, my journey at the University of Cincinnati has been marked by a blend of rigorous academics and enriching experiences. I have had the privilege of working as a Research Assistant at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, where I contributed to vital research on behavioral risk assessment using advanced Natural Language Processing techniques. This role has sharpened my analytical skills and fueled my passion for leveraging technology to address real-world challenges.

In addition to my work in healthcare research, I have explored the digital frontier as a Research Assistant at the PG & XR Labs, focusing on the cultural and educational impacts of the metaverse and social VR. This immersive experience has allowed me to work with cutting-edge XR equipment and collaborate with partners to design innovative virtual environments, deepening my understanding of digital interaction and inclusivity.

My professional journey also includes a rewarding co-op experience as a Product Manager Marketing Co-op at Emerson Fisher. During this time, I utilized data analysis tools like PowerBI and SQL to drive strategic business decisions, enhance product development, and improve customer data interpretation. This role not only enhanced my technical skills but also provided valuable insights into the corporate landscape.

Beyond academics and research, I am actively involved in the University Honors Program as an Ambassador and Student Onboarding Mentor. In these roles, I guide and support incoming honors students, helping them navigate university life and fostering a sense of community. I also serve as the Treasurer for the American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE) at the university, where I contribute to promoting engineering education and professional development.

Looking ahead, I am excited about my upcoming internship with Marmon Holdings in Chicago, where I will be working as an IoT Software Engineering Intern. This opportunity will allow me to dive deeper into the Internet of Things (IoT) technologies and further my knowledge in a city that I love.

As I continue my journey at the University of Cincinnati, my goal is to blend my interests in computer science, data analytics, and digital humanities to create meaningful, tech-driven solutions that address societal challenges. I am eager to engage in interdisciplinary research, pursue advanced coursework, and participate in impactful internships that will prepare me for a future at the intersection of technology and social impact.

I am grateful for the support of the University Honors Program, my mentors, and my peers, all of whom have played a crucial role in my development. With a strong foundation in academic excellence and a commitment to lifelong learning, I am excited to continue exploring new horizons and making a positive impact in the world.
