UHP Welcome Experience Leader

As a student leader in the UHP Welcome Experience program at the University of Cincinnati, I had the opportunity to connect with incoming first-year students, build a supportive community, and contribute to their transition into university life. This student-led program aimed to provide a platform for engagement, community building, and learning about the UHP (University Honors Program) during the initial months at UC. Throughout this experience, I worked closely with the UHP Welcome Experience Coordinators, guiding and supervising UHP Welcome Experience Mentors.

During regular meetings and training sessions, I collaborated with fellow leaders to plan and execute various activities for the program. These included organizing training for Welcome Experience Mentors, meeting with assigned Mentors and first-year students, and being a constant resource for them throughout the experience. Additionally, I facilitated small group meetings, where we explored campus spots, connected with other UHP students, and addressed any questions or concerns the first-year students had.

Through this experience, I developed valuable leadership skills, enhanced my ability to work collaboratively, and deepened my understanding of the importance of community engagement. The Welcome Experience allowed me to foster lasting connections with fellow UHP students and equipped me with the tools to take on more leadership positions in the future.
